Our History

Summit Christian Academy first opened its doors in 1986 as Assembly Christian School. Enrollment that year was approximately eighty students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Over the years, the school has grown in enrollment and expanded its facilities. Lexington First Assembly sponsored the inception of Assembly Christian School and continues to support it today. In the year of 2004, the Board approved to start a preschool program as a part of the school. In 2009 the school changed its name to Summit Christian Academy.

School begins each day at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m. for K-12th grade. Since not all parents’ work schedules will allow for drop off and pick up at this time, Morning Care is offered from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. and afternoon care is available from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Half day and Full day Kindergarten are both offered. Half day Kindergarten ends at noon.

Half-day and full-day preschool are both offered. Preschool begins each day at 8:15 am and ends at 3:15 pm for full-day students and ends at 11:15 a.m. for half-day students. Half-day preschool students may also enroll in the Lunch Buddies program for an additional fee. Lunch buddies participants would be available for pick up at 12:30 pm.
