Spanish

By the time the student leaves Summit Christian Academy for high school, they are prepared to enter Spanish II. Spanish class formally begins in the sixth grade with Introduction to Spanish. However, fourth and fifth grade teachers introduce basic Spanish terminology early to increase awareness and acceptance of multicultural differences.

Art

Each year the students build upon their knowledge of elements of design, art history, art appreciation, art criticism, and art techniques with a big emphasis on multicultural art. Collaborative art projects with Social Studies, Science, or Language Arts taught each semester, help the students bring even more creativity into each subject. Fourth through eighth grade get involved in at least one community project each year to display their talents. And finally, in the eighth grade the students use all that they have learned to focus solely on photography and digital art.
